Diagnostic and therapeutic management

Diagnostic and therapeutic management

Our ultimate goal is to identify the causes of the disease and maintain the quality of life and mobility of our patients. In addition to a full diagnostic evaluation we provide close medical care and therapeutic management. This includes:

  • A thorough assessment of unclear cardiomyopathies by way of multimodal imaging (e.g. modern echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography [CT], and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging [MRI])
  • A precise assessment of the patient’s physical limitations combined with recommendations for improvement through dedicated physical training
  • A close out-patient connection to optimal treatment management, possibly using telemedical monitoring
  • A close interaction with the patient’s family physician or specialist and possibly with cooperating diabetologists, nephrologists and rheumatologists for the detection and optimal treatment of relevant comorbidities (diabetes, iron deficiency, etc.)

In cases of disease progression we also assess whether it is necessary to perform further cardiac interventions, specifically the indication for an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) or an implantable cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) device, as well as the interventional treatment of accompanying valvular heart disease (e.g., mitral-valve leaflet “clipping”) or cardiac arrhythmias (catheter ablation).
